The Canadian Chinese Kuo Shu Federation (CCKSF) is a non-profit organization with the sole purpose of promoting traditional Chinese martial arts through demonstrations, tournaments and various public events. It is comprised of many Masters (or Sifus) of Chinese martial arts, their students and other participants – all working on a voluntary basis.
“Under its original mandate, CCKSF was set up as a non-profit organization to provide an environment for persons interested in Chinese martial arts.
Through workshops, seminars, tournaments, and exhibitions, CCKSF fosters the spirit of benevolence, mutual help, and philanthropy of traditional Chinese martial arts. The Federation remains independent of all political orientation and cherishes racial harmony.”
Although I am not a member of the CCKSF, I have worked alongside many of the Sifus at various events for over 10 years. Also, as the current General Manager and past Administrator for Chung Wah Kung Fu (GTA Region), I am privy to all of their email communications.
Like any other organization, there have been the occasional internal squabbles and disagreements. However, those issues have never impacted their functionality nor altered their core purpose or mandate.
As of October 2017, I am now officially a member of the CCKSF.
